West Lafayette is wrapping up a major project that started in 2016 to keep the Wabash River cleaner and healthier. This final phase of the Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) project will expand our water treatment system to handle more wet weather, preventing overflows of untreated water into the river during heavy rain.
With West Lafayette’s population booming over the past decade, city officials are exploring a transformative upgrade to public safety services. A feasibility study is underway to consolidate Fire Station #2 and fire administration into a modern, centralized campus along West Navajo Street, next to the police station. This proposed move addresses the outdated condition of the current Fire Station #2 and the growing needs of both fire and police services, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency for the community.
