Other Local Projects

As West Lafayette continues to grow, a number of infrastructure improvements and development projects are taking place throughout the area. While these efforts may occur near the SK hynix site or during the same timeframe, they are not part of the SK hynix project.

This section provides brief, high-level details about nearby projects — including who is leading the work, where it’s happening, and why — to help reduce confusion and keep residents informed. These updates are provided for clarity and transparency and will be updated as new information becomes available.

John Boes Two-Stage Ditch Improvements

Who: Tippecanoe County Drainage Board

What: Routine drainage maintenance and flood mitigation.

When: Contract approved April 2, 2025; work is currently underway.

Where:  Extending from approx. 650 feet upstream of the culvert crossing CR N50 W (Salisbury) to about 1,500 feet downstream of the same crossing.

Why:  The Drainage Board approved a contract for expanding the channel, dredging, clearing, and general maintenance of the John Boes ditch for proper drainage and flood mitigation in higher flow events.

Preconstruction Activity Beginning for 425N East-West Connector Road

Who: Subcontractors for American Structurepoint, on behalf of the City of West Lafayette

What: Roadway staking and geotechnical investigation as part of project design

When: Beginning July 23, 2025; expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting

Where: Along the future alignment of the 425N East-West Connector Road, between CR 100N and River Road

Why: To assess soil conditions and establish construction limits as part of the preconstruction design process

Additional Info:
