About
As identified in the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, the 425N East-West Connector Road is a planned major collector that will serve a growing residential corridor in West Lafayette. Once complete, this new road will provide an important east-west connection between Soldiers Home Road, Salisbury Street, and eventually Yeager Road.
To support a phased and strategic approach, the project is currently being developed in three sections:
Sections 1 and 2 are the current priority areas. Survey work and early right-of-way acquisition discussions are already underway. Construction is expected to begin as early as February 2026.
Design and engineering work is being led by American Structurepoint, with funding anticipated through the RAD TIF District (Kalberer/Cason/Blackbird – Research Advancement District), which is currently progressing through the public approval process.
