Gap Analysis
About
Augenblick, Palaich and Associates (APA Consulting) is working to create a comprehensive gap analysis to help us identify and meet the early childhood education needs in the West Lafayette community.
This gap analysis includes: a Community Needs Assessment, Site Analysis, and Operational/Business Plan Analysis and will identify the strengths and resources within the City of West Lafayette to meet early childhood education needs. These studies will be primarily centered on children 3-5 years old. The study should include focus group discussions, city meetings, interviews with key stakeholders, and telephone or mailed surveys.
Who is APA?
Founded in 1983, APA Consulting is a privately owned, Denver-based consulting firm that specializes in education policy analysis, education funding, and program evaluation. They are a federally-recognized small business that focuses on research and evaluation of pre-kindergarten, K-12, and postsecondary education policies and programs.
Final Report Release
We will receive the final findings report, which will detail the methodologies used in the gap analysis and community needs assessment. This includes an overview of both publicly and privately funded services.
Community Feedback Summary
A comprehensive summary of input from community members and stakeholders will be made available, reflecting the diverse perspectives gathered during the consultation phase.
Strategic Recommendations
APA will propose a capital and operational business plan designed to address the identified unmet needs, guiding future developments.

Presentation of Findings
The study’s conclusions will be presented at an in-person meeting, which will include representatives from the West Lafayette Redevelopment Commission, Tippecanoe School Corporation, and the West Lafayette Community School Corporation.
